Sculptor Jackson Hlungwani was an ordained minister who set up his New Jerusalem church in what was then Venda in the 1960s. This work, Crucifix, was the altar centrepiece of that church. The work is on loan from the Johannesburg Art Gallery #MyAfricaOurArt

Keiskamma Guernica, a tapestry by 100 Eastern Cape women, is a beautiful example of the relationship between fine art and craft. Completed in 2010, it shows the devastation HIV/Aids brought to the Eastern Cape. On loan from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum #MyAfricaOurArt
