When I become NMCN registrar, nurses voice MUST be heard.
Quackery will DIE, I mean it will DIE.
RNs won't be begging for certificates to be issued.
CoN/faculties that doesn't meet accreditation criteria will be shut.
There will be an open register on NMCN portal to verify all RNs🇳🇬
There will be no backlog of indexing in faculties and CoN.
Everyone intending to study Nursing must go through the university...no CoN, HND dichotomy anymore.
NANNM MUST be active.

When I become Minister of Health, CCTV cameras will be installed in every public hospital, in the trauma rooms. Nurses’ stations and doctors’ offices in all Emergency Rooms will have solid transparent glass walls, people can see each other. Staff will clock in and out digitally and be paid by the hour. Transparency and accountability will no longer be optional. I will ban white uniforms, everyone will be in “SCRUBS” Just a few of my plans 😆

Let’s even leave aside the fact that nurses don’t prescribe medication to patients, so that was probably not a nurse.
This is triggering for me because a patient once reported me for not smiling when I went to give her medication at 6am. I hadn’t slept all night. I was monitoring another patient every two hours, I was also ill and dealing with personal issues at the same time. Yet I still had to go back and apologize to her before going home because she was ready to escalate it.
Some of you as patients can be really unkind. Healthcare workers are humans too. We have feelings and personal challenges. Nobody owes you a smile while they are effectively doing their job. You don't know what they are going through.

Nurses in government hospitals. Please learn to smile small. This lady was prescribing drugs for me this evening and didn’t even look at me for straight 30 minutes. Nawa oo, thank God my case wasn’t an emergency.
