I can't believe this.
Simon Yates is going to win the Giro d'Italia on the Colle delle Finestre stage, where he lost 26 minutes and lost the Giro in 2018.
This is absolutely poetry. 👏 #Giroditalia
If you are supervising an international student who is trying to write in their non-native language - tell them how awesome they are. They often feel incompetent, frustrated and even stupid. In reality they're really smart - just doing something very complicated. Tell them.

And then, suddenly your cycling career is over. Forever. Eighteen wonderful years, filled with many highs and lows. You entered the team as a top talent and quickly displayed your qualities. In a time when Dutch cycling was in a slump, you were the bright spot the cycling nation so desperately needed. You inspired little children to become cyclists. With your undeniable skills, your ever-present smile, and your ability to win, you gave the people hope.
Even more impressive, and something we will never forget, is your immense resilience. The wrist, ribs, back, shoulder, and elbow injuries in the Tour, the heart arrhythmias, the complications during your wife’s pregnancy, and the passing of your father. Life didn’t always smile upon you, but you kept fighting. Fighting hard. And each time, you bounced back, strengthened by your beautiful family. Because of that, you achieved incredible results in the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España (including the red jersey), as well as in one-day races in Italy and Canada.
You transformed from a GC contender into a true team player. You helped others win and put your own ambitions aside. And that, Robert, is what makes you such a remarkable person. You bring out the best in others. It was a privilege to have you among us for eighteen years. If we ever need to describe the ideal teammate, two words would be enough: your first and your last name.
Congratulations on your wonderful career, Robert. Something you can be very proud of. 👏🏼
Enjoy the time ahead with your family and your life off the bike, although we know you won’t stay off it for long.
Forever Off Season!

@BenjiNaesen I actually had to stop cycling in the uk ( Manchester) as I was in fear of my life - people tried to grab me and my bag several times. This is from someone that was cycling in the Netherlands for three years without ever being scared. It’s sad 😞😞
There is such a difference between cycling in Belgium and UK.
In Belgium, I can ride my bike without being scared for my life.
In UK, every ride includes a close passage from a car or van that seemingly doesn't care about my safety as a cyclist.
And yes, I follow the rules. 🙃
And while we discussed glycan-Siglec interactions, we also had fun, saw the Guggenheim and shared time together ✨ grateful for all the opportunities and experiences 🤍🩵
@MagaliCoccimig1 ESR14 @matteo_calzari presented "Novel results on bacterial sialic acid biosynthesis inhibitors" thank you 🦠 LAST BUT NOT LEAST 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
ESR13 @MagaliCoccimig1 "The role of sialica acid-Siglec axis in the tumor microenvironment" she talked about tumors and showed us cats 😸 can we ask for more?
