Returning briefly from Twitter exile because @BanquetRecords is more active here: I have two tickets for @wetlegband tonight (later show) that I can’t use due to illness. Face value to anyone who can jump in last minute. (Assume forwarding ticket email is fine, Banquet team?)

Returning briefly to big up this brilliant show: incredible physical performance (both the fitness and the specific evocation of Connors); taut, Whiplash-adjacent sound design; real dramatic chops to the psychological exploration of a fascinating character.
Dominic Maxwell@dominicjmaxwell

This is a lot of fun… the psychology, and indeed extended recreations of the baseline play, of Jimmy Connors. Adam Riches’ Edinburgh hit is an energetic delight (and just under an hour!) parktheatre.co.uk/events/jimmy/

Obviously if the closure really does turn out to be permanent, I’ll miss having a fantastic independent food spot in my neighbourhood. But mostly I just hope Chef Tee is okay, and comes out of this doing great stuff through other outlets for his energy and talent.

Popping up back here incredibly briefly to say how incredibly sad it is that — after everything he went through getting the restaurant back up and running — Chef Tee feels he has to close Paradise Cove in response to issues with @lambeth_council. @chefteescarib

An incredible individual who has overcome any number of hurdles and made fantastic food while being community-minded and giving back everything he could to local care leavers. Don’t know the details, but surely the kind of person to encourage, not present with further obstacles

“What was once my natural home (a pragmatic centre-left party focused on dealing with economic disparity, championing social liberalism and equal rights) is now dominated by an illiberal, identity-based strain of politics” — in what world does JK live where this describes Labour?

#trevorphillips tells viewers about the importance of journalists being free to do their job, & he highlights the situation in Ukraine. Is there anywhere else where journalists & their families are being targeted & murdered in record numbers that springs to mind, Trevor?

Some will say, “Oh well Virdi didn’t develop,” but where were the chances, the consistent first-team matches, necessary to do that?

Fully knocked sideways by @StevieVanZandt: Disciple. A remarkable document of a remarkable, rich, truly consequential life.

I am really constantly taken aback by how elitist journalists and pundits are. Not in the sense that they’re snobbish, or elitist in a superficial way, though often, it’s that they don’t understand how here they have access to the actual opinions of actual people, and hate it.
Osita Nwanevu@OsitaNwanevu

One small lesson of this cycle is that we're not served well by so many people doing recreational punditry, and I'd encourage non-journalists who mean well but don't know what they're talking about to consider engaging with politics in other ways.
