Mica is app #2 under MXF Labs. clean Win11 install today, no SmartScreen warning.
the cert is on the studio, not on my name. did that a month ago, didn't know if it would matter.
SmartScreen pools trust at the cert subject. 4 months of ShotsGlow installs transferred to Mica.

@lilyraynyc Hey Lily, so I notice I get more and more email outreach to mention competitors in my Blog posts. Obviously i‘m not doing it but I was wondering what would happen to them and to me if I would do it. What would the disaster look like for both parties?

@searchbound hey peter, interesting to see you build a job board from scratch! thanks for sharing! may share where you get your initial data for jobs from? because you write you seed manually. so people use your job listing form?

6th months in, developing ZooJobs․com as a job board (bought domain for $6k) - some observations/thoughts:
🦒 this is an entirely different build, compared to RanchWork․com (you'd assume it'd be similar, but no)
🦒 I had (almost) instant traction with RW... ZJ initial growth slower (see img), but positive overall (traffic wise, similar to Vidalia dev early days)
🦒 currently seeding one job per day. manually. no bots, no ai. me. this helps me soak-in industry.
🦒 zoos appear to have HR departments, so need to adjust on how to reach them effectively (w/ ranches, either the husband, or wife, or kids often post the job)
🦒 leaning towards yearly price for unlimited listings as my primary package (RW is a-la-carte, one-off postings)
🦒 no sales yet; don't really care; starting to think sales may occur after a hand shake (versus self-serve like RW)
🦒 might attend some zoo & aquarium conferences later this year to meet folks (like I did w/ duderanch․com & got my first sale)
in these early days, another focus is (selfishly) studying myself, to determine if there's some sort of intrinsic motivation here. Some pull towards this industry - some magic sauce that makes it fun for me to return every day. I ain't interested in grinding some project out that might cost me my sanity. I prefer building something where it doesn't feel like I'm building; or doesn't feel like I'm serving. It feels natural. Effortless action sortof. Hell, you can call it wu wei if you want. I want to start working, and then kindof forget that I'm working. Finding projects like that is hard. But it's doable. You just have to build a lot of projects.
I've built so many over the years, I can never quite tell if something might fit - I only know after I build it, and start serving. Happy to say this one has been quite fun. Maybe daily pics of koalas, lions, cheetahs, and sea otters (holding hands) makes it more interesting 🦦🐆🦁🐨🤷♂️ /fin
