8 lines every flag-shagging plastic “patriot” has in their playbook 1.“I want my country back” - From what? You voted for the party that ran it for 14 years. 2.“Our grandads didn’t fight for this” - Your grandads would be ashamed that you can’t find Normandy on a map. They fought with Poles, Sikhs, Gurkhas, and West Indians beside them. They’d have more in common with the immigrants you hate than plastic patriots sharing memes about them. 3.“This isn’t the Britain I grew up in” - Correct. It has lower crime, longer life expectancy, and better healthcare than the 1970s you’re romanticising. You just don’t remember the power cuts and three-day weeks. 4.“Britain is broken” - The most unpatriotic sentence in the English language, repeated daily by people say they love their country. 5. “We’re full” - The Netherlands has twice the population density and somehow manages. The UK is not full. It’s just had 14 years of no housebuilding and you need someone darker than you to blame for it. 6.“We look after our own first” - You vote for parties that cut disability benefits, froze nurses’ pay, gave tax breaks to the rich and closed Sure Start centres. You don’t look after anyone. 7.“Stop the boats” - The Tories spent £700 million on Rwanda to deport four people. Zero boats were stopped. You cheered anyway. 8.“Starmer is a traitor” - The man prosecuted terrorists, paedophile rings, and war criminals as DPP. You import American culture war propaganda from people who openly despise our allies, trash your own country 24/7, and follow convicted fraudsters who lied about where they were born. The only ones treacherously trashing Britain’s reputation daily are you.

Israel ruthlessly carpet bombed Lebanon today, killing at least 180 people and injuring more than 800. How does the BBC report it? “Israel says it hit more than 100 command centres and military sites in 10 minutes…” This is how war crimes are laundered.

Billionaires don’t have bank accounts like you and me. They have art collections,Yachts,Mansions,Stocks. None of it gets taxed until they sell it. So they just never sell it. They borrow against it instead. Live off the loans. Pay almost nothing. Then when they die, their kids inherit it all tax-free. The wealth never gets taxed, It just gets passed down. And we wonder why the gap keeps getting wider.

“Military-aged male” is not a legal category. The categories are “civilian” & “combatant”. In case of doubt, a person is presumed civilian. Age & gender are not close to sufficient to dispel such doubt. Speculative beliefs about threats are also insufficient. 1/2

A $2.5 billion robot has been alone on another planet for 13 years and is still doing science. The scale of that sentence gets worse the longer you think about it. Curiosity landed in August 2012. Obama was president. Instagram had 80 million users. The iPhone 5 hadn’t shipped yet. The rover was designed for a two-year mission and 20 kilometers of driving. It’s now driven 35.5 kilometers, climbed over 327 meters up the side of a mountain, drilled 46 holes into Martian rock, and is currently running its fifth mission extension. The computer running all of this has 256 MB of RAM and a 200 MHz processor. Your AirPods have more computing power. Every command sent from Earth takes 14 minutes to arrive. Every photo sent back takes the same 14 minutes. When Curiosity drills into a rock, the team in Pasadena won’t know if it worked for half an hour. They’ve been operating on that delay, every single day, for 4,846 Martian sols. The power source is 10.6 pounds of plutonium-238 generating about 110 watts. Less than a ceiling fan. It will keep producing electricity for decades because the half-life of Pu-238 is 87.7 years. The rover will run out of moving parts before it runs out of power. And those wheels. Machined from single blocks of aluminum, 0.75 millimeters thick. Half a dime. JPL watched them get shredded by Martian rock starting in 2013, rerouted the entire mission path, taught the rover to drive backwards, and kept going. The wheels look like they lost a fight with a can opener. The rover is still climbing a mountain. Every iPhone you’ve owned since 2012 is in a landfill. Curiosity is on Mars, 140 million miles from the nearest repair shop, running on a ceiling fan’s worth of nuclear power, sending data through a 14-minute time delay, on shredded wheels, doing geology that rewrites what we know about whether life ever existed somewhere other than Earth. We built that. With 0.01% of the federal budget.

@AdamVulture @vijayan84911 @aakashgupta The advancement between iPhone 12 and 16 could’ve been one phone. The differences in the models between doesn’t justify new phones (+ all the marketing & logistics expenses that entails). The pocket computers absolutely can be built to last longer but capitalism & greed exists.

@AdamVulture @vijayan84911 @aakashgupta I’m referring to older phones. Nokias etc, the battery lasted days and they weren’t built to be replaced every 12 months (and didn’t cost $1k nevermind $10k) My phone is also 6 years old, not bothered about buying new tech when it does the same shit.

@iammartelo @vijayan84911 @aakashgupta They last long. They just get obsolete and people buy new ones. My phone has 5 years on its back and thats just because I choose to use it, not because its made to last long

Israel executed every single paramedic in this photo today in South Lebanon — dropping a bomb on their ambulance. Read that again. This is deliberate. Killing medics is a war crime. Killing medics is a crime against humanity. This is medicide.

Once I sympathised with British journalists stuck between honesty and the Israeli lobby threatening their job. But seeing their peers put their bodies on the line, watching them die, be murdered by Israel. Its evaporated that sympathy. Nothing but contempt for the cowards now.

Myth: If we tax billionaires they won't create jobs. Fact: Last year, billionaires got the largest tax break in history. Now, they are literally planning to replace every worker in America with a robot or AI. Trickle down economics is a scam. Tax billionaires out of existence.

What kind of a crap article is this? We had one of these full scale and fully operational in Barstow CA for 40 years. It was never profitable. Then the federal government decided to fund another one close by as part of the global warming grift to loot the public’s treasury. It was such a colossal failure that it shut down after a couple years. Don’t sit here and spread propaganda about Chinese superiority. It’s just propaganda being used to steal even more money from taxpayers for more “green” energy scams.

Your fridge runs 24 hours a day. Solar panels only work while the sun’s out. That mismatch is the entire reason this plant exists, and the fix is just hot salt. The Dunhuang plant in China’s Gobi Desert uses 12,000 mirrors aimed at a single tower about as tall as an 80-story building. All that focused sunlight heats a mix of salts (the same stuff in fertilizer) to 565°C, hot enough to glow red. That liquid salt gets pumped into giant insulated tanks. The tanks are so well insulated they only lose about 1°C per day. When the city needs electricity at 2am, the hot salt boils water into steam, the steam spins a turbine, and you get power. Same basic process as a coal plant. Just no coal. Here’s what makes this different from regular solar: the storage lasts 11 hours. Sun goes down, plant keeps running all night. The big batteries that cities plug into their power grids right now? Those typically hold about 4 hours of electricity. Building batteries that last 11 hours is possible, but the cost balloons fast. A German energy storage study found that storing energy in hot salt costs roughly 33x less than storing it in the lithium-ion batteries we use today. China has built 27 of these plants so far, enough to power roughly a million homes. They doubled that number in 2025 alone. Another 3,000 megawatts (enough for about 2 million more homes) are under construction right now, with 4,000 more in the planning stage. Beijing wants 15,000 megawatts by 2030. The US tried this same technology once. Ivanpah, out in the Mojave Desert. Cost $2.2 billion. But they skipped the storage part entirely, so it could only make power while the sun was shining. It needed natural gas every morning just to start up. It’s now slated to shut down in 2026, thirteen years early, because regular solar panels got so cheap they made the whole project obsolete. China took the same idea, added the one part America left out, and is now building dozens of them. One more thing worth knowing. The salt is made from basic industrial chemicals. No lithium mining. No cobalt. No rare earth metals. And it lasts 30 years of daily use before the tanks need work.
Volcaholic 🌋@volcaholic1

China’s solar power plant in Dunhuang uses around 12,000 mirrors to focus sunlight onto a central tower, heating molten salt to extreme temperatures. That heat is stored and used to generate electricity on demand, including after sunset.

Your post is inaccurate. The United States installed the same solar “power tower” technology in Tonopah, NV. It is called “Crescent Dunes”. It was a total failure and the project company went bankrupt twice, the second time on January 21, 2026. The molten salt tanks leaked at the foundations and buckled. Furthermore, there is a better and more cost effective option for firming solar power: Hybrid solar projects that combine PV solar panels with battery energy storage systems (“BESS”).
