Health is wealth. I’ve been realizing more and more that if you’re not taking care of your body, everything else suffers. Sweating is often misunderstood as a way for the body to “detox,” but its primary purpose is actually temperature regulation. When your body heats up from exercise, hot weather, or stress, sweat glands release fluid onto the skin, which cools you down as it evaporates. While sweat contains small amounts of minerals and trace substances, it does not meaningfully remove toxins from the body. The organs responsible for detoxification are the liver and kidneys, which filter harmful substances from the blood and eliminate them through urine and waste. So while sweating can be a sign of a good workout or heat response, it isn’t a reliable or significant method for cleansing the body of toxins.
