If there’s one thing that stands out deeply to me from my past experiences, especially in relationships, it’s that constantly having the same conversation with the same person changes nothing, especially when they lack self-awareness, make excuses, and refuse to understand your point of view. Some people hear you, but they don’t truly process you. And I’ve learned I’m not meant to keep explaining myself to be understood. And the truth is, constantly repeating yourself starts to drain you mentally. You begin to feel unheard, emotionally exhausted, and disconnected from yourself because you’re pouring so much energy into trying to make someone “get it.” Meanwhile, the right people won’t need endless explanations to care about your feelings or take your concerns seriously. One of the hardest lessons I’ve learned is that love alone is not enough. Emotional intelligence, accountability, comprehension, and willingness to improve matter just as much. Because no relationship survives solely on feelings when understanding is absent. What I’ll never do again is repeatedly address the same issue. If I’ve communicated it twice and nothing changes, I’m not bringing it up a third time. At that point, I know I simply do not belong there.
