But you were saying that Europeans as a whole know nothing about US geography (one country) and I was saying that in my experience Americans know nothing about Europe, as a whole. Which is definitely worse.

Similar to your frustrations at people classing the US as just a big country & not knowing the specifics, you can't just class Europe as one place.
