If the biggest artists in a genre start moving violently, especially in a scene that still doesn’t have a proper structure, it can do real damage.
The first thing it affects is how the genre is seen. Once violence becomes part of the conversation, people stop focusing on the music and start focusing on the chaos. Brands get nervous. Promoters get nervous. Investors get nervous. Even fans start looking at the scene differently. What should feel exciting starts to feel unstable.
It also sets a terrible example for younger artists. They may start thinking that being feared is part of being successful, or that aggression is a normal part of stardom. That kind of mindset can spread quickly in an industry that is still growing and defining itself.
Then there’s the trust issue. Collaborations become harder. People start choosing sides. Camps form. Events become tense. Studios stop feeling creative and start feeling political. And once that happens, the whole genre suffers, not just the people involved.
The truth is, a genre can recover from bad songs. What’s much harder to recover from is bad behaviour from the artists who carry the biggest spotlight.
