@iamindrop does it automatically compensate for the different latencies of different patches & articulations? cuz holy shit i need that. the thing with ableton is that if i rly wanna care, ima have to make a new track for each new articulation and then delay them differently.

am i weird for making orchestral music on ableton? i feel like everyone uses either cubase or studio one lmao

@haimofuuu yes, you CAN totally write orchestral music w it but 99% of the people i know that use Ableton for orchestral music is because is the only DAW they know or are too used to it and not because they prefer a feature that Ableton offers for orchestral music specifically

@haimofuuu - a real mixer / mix console - proper delay compensation - hide / deactivate tracks (preserves cpu for big templates 500+ tracks etc) - proper video integration - advance midi functions (ableton focus more on beat making midi tools and less on scripting)

@haimofuuu i love Ableton, i have it since 2014 and still use it for some electronic music projects but it’s clearly not design for traditional studio work (mixing, post production, scoring) still doesn’t have ARA support instead they focused on Splice

@Tantacrul i personally don’t think that a reference track is “needed” for a production, mix or master. sure, “influences”can help with the overall vision and sound but i think that the final master should fit your production and not just be based on different track

@oozzz_kr there could be a lot of reasons for latency, is always good to set a low buffer size of 64 or 128 and not have any plugins that introduce latency (specially on the master) like Ozone or some limiters! (but maybe you already tried this)

@iamindrop Thank you for introducing me to so many products! I'm looking for actual equipment, and the reason is that when I try to practiced before by connecting guitar to daw, I somehow got a latency. I still don't know why...
