This bring back such memories. There was a Red book of fairytales ..and in so many tales the hero was the farmers youngest son Ivan. I thought everyone named Ivan was meant for great adventures..😂😂😂

Of course. Raduga publications. We got books at amazing prices. Hardcovers of Dostoyevsky and Sholokhov at Rs 10-15. Complete works of Marx and Engels at Rs 40. Bad quality translations but heavens, still extremely enjoyable. The kids had books like “The adventures of Dennis” and “When Daddy was a Boy”

Among the happier moments in life was being part of the inaugural Quiz Time on tv. We bought ourselves a burger at Wimpys when we won a round!😃 another great quiz moment was winning the tough Bournvita quiz contest on radio with Ameen Sayani as quizmaster for Campion school. All great memories How about a competition now amongst us all after all these years? Maybe @joybhattacharj @babubasu and @derekobrienmp can play quiz masters? Dear @GreeceinIndia, We submitted 5 family passports for a short-term visa—4 have been approved and returned, but 1 passport is still missing. We’ve had no updates—despite emailing the embassy a week ago, there’s been no response. The visa processing company hasn’t replied either, and the embassy phone lines are unreachable. Fun fact. The original Phantom stories were based in Java, then in Bengal, which is why the location was named Bangalla from Bengal, and the Singh pirates were among the main enemies, and Rama Singh killed the 20th Phantom. Falk wanted British and Indian readers and moved the location to Africa. When Indrajal comics published them in India Bengalla became Denkali and Rama became Ramulu
