the best thing you can do for yourself is actively increase your surface area for luck to hit you. go outside, try new cafes, museums, events, take a new route home, speak to people, ask questions, side quest. the more you do, the more serendipity and synchronicity will find you.

i don’t think people realize how vulnerable love actually is until it’s over. there’s someone out there who has seen a version of you that the rest of the world never will. they’ve read the paragraphs, they’ve seen the “i miss you” texts, they know how soft you became when you felt safe. they have proof that, for a moment in your life, someone meant everything to you. it’s a strange feeling. because love eventually ends for some people but the evidence that it existed doesn’t.
