@iamyeshboy I love this about trusting the Holy Spirit. I had ideas about who I'd marry. But I needed to find someone like my wife first.

When I was still single and ready to mingle I was all concerned about my future-wife's nationality. But Holy Spirit showed me, that wasn't right. If the relationship has His blessing the nationality doesn't matter since we're both heavenly citizens. 10.5 years in, I'm still happily married to a beautiful american. (Which back then I thought I'd never marry lol)

Writing online has made me much sharper. I've had to think more clearly about topics. I've made myself push through blocks. I've shown up for myself in ways I wouldn't have before. Publishing SOMETHING on the Internet is the best way for you to break out of a funk.

I was talking about this topic with our small group on Sunday night. We want to clean ourselves up before we go to God. We don't want to present our mess to Him because we don't think He can handle it but like you said brother, He can handle it. He's the only one that can. He's the only one that can take our mess and make it into something beautiful. Thank you for sharing this word.

God's not scared of your mess. He already knows it. In fact, He died for it. Surrender to Jesus and let Him turn your mess into freedom!

@iamyeshboy As usual you are spot on. Forgiveness starts with forgiving ourselves and making sure that we can not only forgive ourselves but release what we're holding on to. God doesn't want us to have a closed fist; he wants us to have an open hand to receive his blessing.

Ever lie in bed replaying an argument? That's not emotions. Those are tormenting spirits. Go to sleep with the Holy Spirit, not anger. "Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger," Ephesians 4:26 ESV

@TheSystemsDad True! In that moment people don't realize, "releasing others" is actually resulting in releasing yourself.

It's so tempting to believe the lie that we need to mull over things before we go to sleep. No, we actually need to release them and have them dealt with before we get a good rest. The Lord gives rest to those he loves. He doesn't want us turning over our bed other than to lament the sin of the world.
