@jamesjyu Lefebvre argued that space is a social product, or a complex social construction (based on values, and the social production of meanings) which affects spatial practices and perceptions. Surely related?

@paulcarder @jamesjyu Paul I think you're talking in this thread here about social constructionism (and/or constructivism if we're going to split hairs!) rather than Lefebvrian stuff per se. I tend to disagree with If about Lefebvre's value, but there you go...

@paulcarder @jamesjyu "(social) space is a (social) product" - very important. Lefebvre often gets oversimplified, especially his spatial triad - the way in for most workplace folk.

@jamesjyu @paulcarder It's a very tough book James - Lefebvre wrote in quite an impenetrable way. I'd start by looking at some of Andy Merrifield's work on him (some nice papers and a book: 'Critical Introduction') but perhaps book 'Spatial Agency' is best way in...

The till broke at Costa so got my 6am coffee for free. The train was 15 mins early. I have a table, plug socket and 4 seats to myself. Coffee drank without spilling it over myself. It's the small things in life eh 🤣
