The Lost Files: Subject – TYRANNOSAURUS REX "REXY" (ID: TR-01 // October 14, 1988)
Files recovered at Isla Nublar, March 3, 1999
"The Tyrannosaurus rex designated TR-01, later nicknamed "Rexy," was one of the first large predators fully developed by InGen in the main program. Incubated and reared at Isla Sorna in 1988, the female displayed exceptional physical development from her earliest stages, along with dominant behavior even in isolation.
Unlike other thropods, Rexy exhibited no erratic patterns or indiscriminate aggression. Her behavior was described as controlled, direct, and highly territorial. From a young age, she established dominance over her immediate environment, responding only to stimuli she perceived as relevant and ignoring the rest.
Growth records indicate consistent and stable development, reaching dimensions exceeding initial predictions based on the genetic material. Her jaw strength, physical resilience, and sensory abilities quickly established her as the alpha specimen in InGen's programs.
In 1991, after extensive evaluation, the committee authorized her transfer to Isla Nublar as the centerpiece of the park. The operation was considered a high priority and a major risk.
The transfer was personally executed by Robert Muldoon, who led a high-security convoy specifically designed to contain the specimen during the inter-island journey. The operation included ground units, enhanced containment, and protocols for immediate response to any eventuality.
Note from Brian Donovan Maclean - Chief Ranger:
"Rexy has nothing to prove. Since she arrived, that's been clear. She doesn't run without reason, she doesn't attack without reason... but everything on her territory belongs to her." It's not just a large animal, it's a presence. The jungle didn't reject it, it accepted it. And it simply took what already belonged to it. “
Once on Isla Nublar, Rexy was housed in a sprawling complex designed to simulate a natural ecosystem with dense vegetation, open areas, and waterholes. Since her release, the environment has shown immediate changes: disrupted wildlife routes, reduced activity in nearby areas, and a clear territorial boundary established by the specimen.
Note from Robert Muldoon – Chief of Security:
“I was there when we moved her, and I can tell you something: we don’t transport an animal… We transport a force of nature. That whole convoy, that whole team… it was to make sure she arrived. Because if something went wrong, there was no way to stop it. Now that she’s on Nublar, it’s not about controlling her… it’s about respecting her territory.”
As the main attraction of Jurassic Park, Rexy has been positioned as The central focus of the park experience, representing InGen's greatest achievement both scientifically and operationally.
Note from John Hammond – Founder of InGen: “Tyrannosaurus rex is the reason this whole thing exists. It's not just an attraction... it's a symbol. When visitors see Rexy, they will understand that the impossible has become reality. She is majestic, she is awe-inspiring... and she is undoubtedly the queen of this park.”
Rexy remains on Nublar Island as the dominant predator in the park's controlled ecosystem, while maintaining stable behavior within expected parameters.
No incidents were recorded during her relocation or the initial phase of adaptation to the new environment.
The TR-01 specimen was installed in a large-scale complex designed to replicate natural conditions, with constant monitoring, safe viewing areas, and minimal direct interference.
Rexy represents the largest exhibitor in InGen's program, distinguished by its absolute mastery of the environment, behavioral stability, and iconic value as a centerpiece of Jurassic Park."
