i feel like there's a culture in the artist community where we can never complain/criticize an artist's work even though we're paying customers of the art. like, if i commissioned an artist but thought the work was unsatisfactory (even if i had objective things of why i felt it wasn't of quality) i would be flamed/cancelled because the artist was already doing me a favour for taking my commission. i've commissioned hundreds of artists in the past half of a decade, and this week i got my first comm back that i was genuinely disappointed by as it seemed rushed in order to meet the deadline. there are no revisions because it's skeb-style, and everyone i've shown it to also agrees that it's not the same quality as the sample. i can try to chargeback on paypal since i can't leave a review or warn, but i feel worse knowing that a chargeback will likely cause a loss to the artist and i know how hard it is to be an artist. idk, more of a rant than anything else. anyways ;-;

I have to preface - I've always been a huge fan of Suiika, I love her work, and I love what she did for the vtuber community because her prices aren't always affordable for many people starting out. However, if I'm dead honest... I stopped scrolling twitter for the first 2 days after it launched because my entire timeline was Suiika's model. Literally every single post was the model in a different combination. Which is great! It's truly beautiful. But I also like using Twitter to discover other artists, other talents, other news... and it felt like it kinda took over ENVtuber twt entirely. It drowned out every other post for me and I saw no coverage of anything else 🥲 Is that Suiika's fault? NO. It's gorgeous. Is it the 'same person' on timeline? NO! I'm really happy for Suiika's success in selling the model and I hope the profit is fruitful after her hard work 🥺But I don't think Finnya's take is out of left field either because I, myself, who has followed Suiika throughout her journey of working on the customizable model, stopped scrolling twitter for a few days because of this.

0/10 ragebait Genuinely, what was the point of saying this out loud? You can’t insult Suiika and her hundreds of hours of hard work, then compliment her to save face. Less than 1% of vtubers have this model. You’re seeing it a lot because it’s new and good. Let people enjoy it
