Last week, we held a Management Strategic Session for @followlastma, themed ‘Strategic Leadership for Effective Traffic Management in Lagos.’ At the core of this management strategy session was the need to reverberate Mr. Governor’s @jidesanwoolu’s vision for traffic management, ensuring that we are not only responsive but also proactive. We reviewed our strategies, prepared ahead for the anticipated high influx of vehicles, and mapped out measures for managing major events expected throughout the year. It was also an opportunity to fine-tune our long-term goals, particularly the 10-year traffic management plan led by Dr. Ibraheem Forson, while celebrating LASTMA at 25. The retreat further explored innovative partnerships, including technological opportunities with Microsoft and insights from thought leaders like Mrs. Ajibola Ponnle. This collaboration underscores our commitment to leveraging technology to transform traffic management in Lagos. Reflecting on the challenges faced during the 2024 yuletide season, it became clear that failing to plan is planning to fail. With this in mind, we’re taking deliberate steps to ensure a smoother, safer, and more efficient experience for all Lagosians in 2025 and beyond. I emphasized during the sessions that strategic planning, human capacity development, and decisive leadership are non-negotiable in rebranding LASTMA as a professional, forward-thinking agency. By prioritizing collaboration, adaptability, and preparation, we are setting the stage for a Lagos where road safety, reduced travel time, and seamless mobility become the norm.
