@fatih @WHOOP I cancelled mine also and switched to @bevel_health with my Apple Watch Ultra. Love it so far. Sensors are better, app is better, and the integrated AI is fantastic with a great memory implementation.

I canceled my @WHOOP subscription, and the only reason was that they made it extremely hard to cancel. It’s not possible via their app, and even if you find their obscure link, they don’t allow you to cancel unless you answer 9/10 questions. Feels extremely deceiving. Better to avoid paying companies that have zero respect to their users.

Quite impressed by what Claude Code can do! Gave it very simple instructions to write a Go SDK for a public API using an existing Go library as inspiration. It did its own research and one-shotted the whole thing in less than an hour and with 99% of my session quota 😅

Took Adblock for granted until the one I use recently stopped working. Suddenly these email-like ads started showing up in my inbox. How is this different from getting actual random spam emails? Maybe it's time to switch email providers.

Asked Google “what happened to X from Y company”. Google returned no relevant results, and incorrect results from Gemini (AI Overview). ChatGPT gave me the exact answer I was looking for (with links) and more. The latter might become tomorrow’s default search engine.

Ran more this year than all previous years combined. One day short of 300 runs within a year, so that’s gonna be the score to beat in 2025!

@mitchellh I know that I’m just one data point (thanks for the invite btw!), but I’ve swapped to ghostty and used it out-of-the-box with zero config. Most of the stuff that I really care about is on the “layer above it” through oh-my-zsh, .zprofile, and/or dotfiles.

99% of users of software want to launch it and get to work. A month ago I asked Ghostty beta users to share their configs and challenged myself to understand why they're not empty. Part of the 1.0 has been getting to where I'm confident 99% of users will have zero config.

Wrapping up the year with a 3:14:14 PR at CIM. Learned from my mistakes in this same race last year. Came up with a plan this time around, stayed disciplined, and executed on it. Inching closer to a BQ, let’s go!

As Ghostty nears public release, we've bumped the bot to invite 50 people per day to the private beta. We've added around 1000 new people the past few weeks. If you haven't logged into Discord in awhile, check it out, you may have an invite. Trying to find those final bugs... Note this is only the automated system. There are still various methods to get a discretionary invite, so the total number of invites per day is over 50.

SF marathon thank you for such an amazing race! PR’ed with 3:27:27. We’re just getting started, the grind goes on!

Finally got the chance to hop into a Waymo and I must say I’m really impressed! Probably drives a tad slower and more defensively than a human driver (e.g. sitting through a yellow light rather than chasing it), but the ride itself was very smooth.

146 runs and 148 hours later, finally hit 1k miles year-to-date. Closed out the week with a 17 mi run. The grind goes on!

Somehow ended up staying up til 1am watching MIT’s Intro to Algo course on YT. Ngl I kinda miss the days back in college
