@Nagato890 there were a lot of emotions from ichigo in this arc. his breakdown near the end was probably all the built up emotions all the way from the start of the series and was only able to let it out when all hope seems lost. this makes him so much more relatable. underrated arc fs

What makes this arc's writing so awesome is how it subverts expectations. Ichigo starts out wanting to kill Tsukishima more than anything driven to the edge by the violation of his friends' and family's memories. Yet when the truth comes out that Ginjo was deceiving him from the start, never intending to return his powers, and instead planning to steal them,Ginjo tries to turn Ichigo against the Soul Society. He reveals how they were using both of them as tools, monitoring them through the Substitute Shinigami badge, expecting Ichigo to burn with the same hatred he does.
But Ichigo rejects it all. Despite understanding the corruption and betrayal, his core motivation isn't political reform or systemic change, it's protecting his friends and family. He views the Soul Society through personal bonds (like his connection to Rukia or Renji) rather than its flawed institutions. His empathy keeps him focused on stopping Ginjo's violent path rather than joining in revenge against the past. In the end, as Rukia describes him, he is 'the man who changed the Soul Society', not through hatred or revolution, but through his unchanging resolve to protect those he cares about, ultimately making things better for everyone.
