ADC PRIMARIES 📍: MOVED TO MAY 25th 11 DAYS TO GO 🇳🇬 AMAECHI: THE POWER SERIES (PART 5) "I am a political engineer. My job is to find solutions to problems." — Amaechi This clip highlights H.E. Rotimi Amaechi's signature approach to governance: no theory, no rhetoric, just simple, practical, and results-driven action. Moving away from slogans, he shares some key insights on his strategy to tackle the electricity crisis: - Audit over Promises: Prioritizing a rigorous technical audit over empty rhetoric. - Applied Experience: Leveraging practical lessons from the Rivers State IPP project. - Regional Customization: Tailoring solutions to the ground-level realities of each region, rather than relying on textbook theories. #AmaechiforPresident

We in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) are deeply saddened by the tragic death of one of our chieftains in Jigawa State, former House of Representatives member, Alhaji Abba Anas Adamu. On behalf of our National Chairman, National Secretary, the entire National Working Committee (NWC), and the entire ADC family, we mourn the passing of a man who devoted himself to public service and grassroots politics with humility, dignity, and integrity. Alhaji Abba Anas Adamu, who represented Birniwa/Guri/Kirikasamma Federal Constituency from 2007 to 2011, was widely respected for his calm disposition, accessibility, and commitment to his people. His death is a painful loss, not just to his family and Jigawa State, but to all of us in the ADC family. We pray that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, grants him Aljannatul Firdaus, and comforts his family and loved ones in this difficult moment. His tragic passing is yet another painful reminder of the growing insecurity confronting our country. Signed: Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi National Publicity Secretary African Democratic Congress (ADC)

AMAECHI: THE POWER SERIES (PART 4) 🇳🇬 It began with a bold, singular goal: delivering 24/7 electricity to every citizen. In this interview, H.E. Rotimi Amaechi takes us back to the beginning of the journey that led to the construction of Nigeria’s largest state-owned power and distribution infrastructure in Rivers State. He goes on to share what happened after the Federal Government rejected his move to distribute power to homes, businesses, and public institutions. Under his leadership, the Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF) operated in a class of its own. He details the master plan designed to transform the South-South into an economic powerhouse and reflects on the missed opportunities that followed when subsequent administrations abandoned the plan. #AmaechiforPresident

ADC PRIMARIES 📍 10 DAYS TO GO 🇳🇬 Bola Tinubu | Rotimi Amaechi | Atiku Abubakar | Peter Obi Ultimately, Nigerians want one thing: ELECTRICITY. This infographic gives us the evidence we need to choose the path that leads to it. The arithmetic is very clear. One record shows a 5,801MW peak for a country of approximately 200 million. Another shows 715MW of generation alongside the required infrastructure for 24-hour power supply for a single state of 5 million people. Meanwhile, others focused their efforts on unbundling and alternative policy priorities. When you strip away the speeches and grandstanding, the numbers tell the real story of who can get the job done.

Today, the Catholic Church celebrates the Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ into heaven. He told His disciples in John 16 verse 6: "Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I

I see President Trump's visit to China as a sign of strength - knowing that you've got competition. But the United States must do everything within its purview to stay on top because China has terrible human rights record and we don't know what they believe in over there.

The Legal Position on Dual Party Membership In March 2026, Nigeria’s House of Representatives passed an amendment to the 2026 Electoral Act seeking to criminalize dual membership of political parties, prescribing a penalty of a ₦10 million fine and/or two years’ imprisonment. For the avoidance of doubt, this proposed provision remains inchoate, as it is not yet law. For the amendment to have legal effect, it must also be passed by the Senate and subsequently receive presidential assent. As of now, the Senate has not passed the amendment. Therefore, while dual party membership may be politically questionable or discouraged by party rules, it is not currently a criminal offence under Nigeria’s existing legal framework. What the law expressly prohibits, however, is dual nomination. A political party cannot nominate a candidate for more than one elective position in the same election cycle, and an individual cannot be nominated as a candidate by more than one political party for the same election. ADC PRIMARIES 📍 11 DAYS TO GO 🇳🇬 They said a state couldn't defeat federal overreach. He did. They said our rails were dead. He revived them. They said our streets and waters were lost to insecurity. He reclaimed them. From building infrastructure for 24-hour electricity to providing free education and healthcare, particularly for those in need, he has proven that dignity is a right, not a luxury. He didn’t just hold office. He left every position better than he found it. He has spent decades solving the unsolvable and defying the doubters. He has proven that leadership is about service, not status. In just 11 days, we take a step closer to shattering a cycle of failed promises. In just 11 days, we move one step closer to putting his vast experience and results-driven leadership to work for Nigeria. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for President. 🇳🇬 #ThePeopleFirst #AmaechiforPresident

Keir Starmer has Nigerian blood in his veins - he has refused to resign despite his party losing so many seats in the last elections. Not surprised though - they're our colonial masters! Nigeria and Britain share so much in common - this inclusive!

Just thinking aloud: are there any Americans of Nigerian descent representing their counties in the US Congress? I just asked Google and got a No! So sad! Really shows that getting into the United States Congress isn't easy at all. Good morning!

“Where is the Money?" - Amaechi’s Stance on Fuel Subsidy Removal 🇳🇬 Originally introduced as a means of ensuring that majority of Nigerians buy petroleum products at an affordable rate, abuse and mismanagement ensured that it became more of a burden than a blessing to the Nation. The issue of removal of subsidy products is one that predates this administration. President Olusegun Obasanjo removed subsidy for Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) and set the stage for PMS subsidy removal with the sale of the Government's refineries. Although the sale was revoked, it sent a subtle signal; subsidy removal without adequate local supply would be disastrous for our people. It was in recognition of this fact that Late. President Buhari moved heaven and earth to ensure that the Dangote Refinery came to fruition. The above background is necessary for us to understand the crux of this piece; removal of PMS subsidy was necessary, the challenge was and remains the timing of the removal and most importantly, the use to which the funds hitherto used to pay subsidies have been put to. This administration announced the removal of subsidy as its first act in office. While commendable on paper , in practice it was bound to be a disaster. Our refineries were not working at the time and Dangote Refinery was not complete. Added to the removal of subsidy on forex, the result was predictable even to intellectually bereft. The cost of everything skyrocketed and plunged us into a crisis. Everything this administration has done since then has worsened the situation rather than made it better. It took them forever to increase the national minimum wage, support for Dangote Refinery was withdrawn at first, with the National Oil Company refusing to pay for the balance of 12.5% of the 20% shares alloted to it in the refinery. New taxes have been introduced while all Government interventions in sectors like Agriculture has seized. One of the major arguments against the subsidy regime was that we borrowed to pay subsidies. Removal was supposed to free up funds and clean up our finances. What do we have? We now run 3 budgets in a calendar year. Ministries and Government Agencies barely receive up to 10% of their capital allocations. Recurrent allocations are irregular. Its removal by this administration has seen us borrow far more than previous administrations, the impact of these loans are not reflected in the lives of Nigerians. Rather, it has channelled these funds to misplaced priorities, personal aggrandisement and political maneuverings, while tightening the screws on the poor with increased taxation and negligible social programs as hallmarks of the Government's interventions. As a result, the buying power of the average Nigerian has shrunk to less than a quarter of what it was pre 2023, thereby deepening poverty and wiping out a huge chunk of the Nigerian middle class. As President of Nigeria, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi will not reinstate the fuel subsidy, as he stated during a recent town hall meeting with ADC leaders and supporters in Lagos. What he'll do is ensure that the funds saved from the termination of subsidy payments is not used to cater to a bigger government. These funds will be channeled to critical economic sectors which today demand immediate attention from Governments at all levels, Power, Education, Agriculture and Primary Healthcare. The failure of government in these sectors is the single largest contributor to the crippling poverty that permeates the land which in turn has led to creating the enabling environment for the insecurity pandemic we presently face. A lack of political will to tackle these problems head on has further compounded the situation. This is where Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi comes in. As Speaker, as Governor, and as Minister, he has demonstrated a proven capacity in all of the above mentioned areas, as well as a penchant to do what is right by the people and not the elites even at great personal cost. …….
