#ICMF23 has closed by acknowledging the chairs of the organization committee: Modesto Lopez Lopez Laura Rodríguez Arco Ana Belén Bonhome Espinosa Next ICMF (the 17th) on 5-10 July 2026 in Vienna!

Pr Modesto Lopez Lopez, chair of the #ICMF23 conference introduced the first plenary lecture given by Pr Ladislau Vekas from the early history of ferrofluid research in Romania in the 70's to the latest development in their synthesis and engineering! 🧲

5nd day of #ICMF23 opens with ceremony of PhD award attributed to Dr Cristina Gila Vílchez for her thesis on Magnetic hydrogels for regenerative medicine! 🧲💉👏👩‍🎓

Final words given by the inventor of ferrofluids, Dr Ron Rosensweig, showing the first ever seen on Earth picture of peak instability from 1967, and of the first ICMF conference in Italy in 1977: Since then and up today, science is a bridge between West and Soviet/Russian worlds!

3rd day of #ICMF23 afternoon session starts with iconic talk by Pr Stefan Odenbach from @tudresden_de 'what makes materials smart?'

4th day #ICMF23 opens with plenary talk by Dr John Philip, senior colloid scientist at Indira Gandhi center for atomic research in Kalpakkam and an alumni of @CRPP_Bx, on the thermal properties of ferrofluids for applications such as heat exchanger / magnetic cooling system! 🧲🧊
