@Potstirrer111 You sell your vote far too cheap. We need mass deportations. Atleast 3 million but more like 5 million people need to go.

@RemigrationNZ This bloke couldn't memorise a paragraph without looking at his phone. And he's supposed to be leading the "remigration" effort? Seems like the immigrants will be safe and well.

@_colourmeamused Every post gets brigaded. I do wonder how much of it is genuine and how much of it is just foreign influence operations. I've read that anywhere between 20% to 50% could be straight up bots.

Immigration policy is about how many people a country admits, from where and on what terms. Within those bounds, reasonable people can disagree. When people frame their opposition to immigration on the basis of contempt for other human beings based on national origin, that is at best serious error and at worst something much more revolting. It is a disgusting thing to look down upon whole peoples as lesser beings, unworthy of regard in the light of universal human dignity. So while I will debate immigration, I will not debate any stance that rests upon disdain for peoples as such cannot be reconciled with a right understanding of the worth of the human person.

@Downunderblue @AndrewBGreene It was previously reported that Aus sailors were ordered to their bunks during offensive actions. But, it seems Aussies may have been involved in the sinking of IRIS Dena. It poses a conundrum to Australia's stated position of not getting involved with the Iran war.

@AndrewBGreene I don't see the story here? Isn't that just common sense considering the circumstances and consistent with the legality of the situation?

@Subbiesbattler @JohnDavids46868 @9NewsMelb @gillianlant I also like New York's "targeted monitoring". Using GPS tracking on repeat offenders and bar them from entering high-risk areas. VIC has started a similar roll-out of such targeted programs. I expect to see a drastic reduction in car theft in the coming years.

Melbourne's hospitality war has exploded, with three more attacks overnight. One of the latest victims is warning it's only a matter of time before someone is killed, while the home of another was shot at while his wife and children slept inside. @gillianlant #9News

@Subbiesbattler @JohnDavids46868 @9NewsMelb @gillianlant VIC does have the highest rate of car thefts out of any state. It's the result of a small number of repeat offenders. Personally I like Brisbane's method of "knock and talks" of known culprits, which increases their perceived risk of being caught and reduces high-value crime.

@thoughtsofchao2 @VJMPub @PronouncedHare All immigration policies have holes. Those employers will likely be investigated and the visas will be revoked. That's how a selective system works. INZ undertakes post-accreditation checks and tightens requirements when gaps are found.

@Dannystagg93 @PronouncedHare Open defecation is not a cultural norm, it is the result of not having access to toilets. Once toilets were built and accessible, open defecation saw massive reduction. You are just proving his point that your opposition is based on racial contempt rather than reason.

@PronouncedHare How can you enforce borders/immigration law without getting accused of looking "down upon whole peoples as lesser beings"? It seems like as soon as you argue one group of people should have more access than another group, you're a Nazi and you killed six billion Jews

@Bostonbeach2000 @7NewsSydney Everyone says they want spending cuts, but when it's time to actually cut, these same people are up in arms. Let's not forget 50% of Australians rely on government support to bolster their income. Gradual stagnation is the only way people will swallow it. ON won't do shit.

You should stand for parliament. Growth is not a cut and Spending has risen 33% in 4 years. Do you realise it costs each household $5,000 per year to fund the NDIS. Increasing spending, calling it a cut and then shifting people onto state programmes won’t fly, it’ll just get One Nation elected.

Anthony Albanese appears set to break more promises in a budget he's calling his most important yet. A year on from his history-making election victory, the Prime Minister is foreshadowing the very tax changes he once ruled out.

@aeaiyo @lwsrk @gwoyeuromatzyh All ASEAN states balance their ties with China and the U.S. Why does Malaysia hold 12+ drills annually with the U.S, but only one every year or so with China? Obvious hedging.
