I can relate to this 110%. Documentation is very important. I started recording and documenting my life and work in 1992 right after film school, and after I put out my documentary in 2022, many people were amazed at how much I have done over 30 years. In Nigeria, it is common for people to ERASE you from their story or history and just say “it is God that did it”, so that if you now say something, it will look like you’re dragging credit with God. This is why today I can tell my story with 30 years worth of over 600 hours of video footage. No Nigerian, dead or alive, comes close in terms of archives! Not only should you document your story, TELL your story. Boast about your achievements. Never be shy to blow your own trumpet. Do not wait for anyone to give you any “flowers”, you build your own rose garden.

Your boss resigned a few months ago, and you’ve been acting in her role for a while. You’ve received feedback that you’re doing an excellent job, and you’ve been hoping to be appointed as the substantive replacement. Then one morning, you’re invited for a chat and told that a replacement for your former boss will be starting next month, and that you’ll need to coach the new hire since you’ve been acting in the role. What’s your reaction going to be? Could you have done anything differently before the replacement was hired?

While a simple “no, we can’t take-in any Venezuelan deportees from the US” would’ve sufficed, but then again, this is hilarious: quoting rapper Public Enemy to Trump! "In the words of Flavour Flav, 'Flavour Flav got problems of his own, I can’t do nuttin for ya man.'" —Tuggar

So, what exactly did they spend the $16m on? A lot of Tech founders in Africa have lost a king's ransom and the reasons are not apparent. $105m, $60m, $30m etc. Are we going to have this conversation?
