"Allow GitHub to use my data for AI model training" Disable that! Enabled by default, even on a paid account. Why are companies so distrustful? @github #Microsoft

@djchateau @RazaSN 1. you can verify the end-to-end encryption using the steps described in the post linked above 2. you can review independent security audits, which are locked to specific versions (and disable updates) 3. you can choose any sync/storage solution you want, you have sovereignty

if your data is stored in a database that a company can freely read and access (i.e. not end-to-end encrypted), the company will eventually update their ToS so they can use your data for AI training — the incentives are too strong to resist

Is there a chrome plugin that takes a webpage of help docs, converts them into plain text and then pastes into my clipboard??? No idea why companies don't put a big "copy for LLM" button at the top of their page

someone just open-sourced a tool that converts pdfs to markdown at 100 pages per second. 100% free. runs entirely on cpu. no expensive gpus needed.

@TechCrunch Kagi is an amazing search engine, with so many features for those looking to take their search further. No regrets here. I've come to rely on it every single day and many times a day, these last few months.

@lucasgomiladev Right! That was the first thing I think that really motivated me to keep testing the Godot Engine out after opening a project with a fair amount of content. That was such a relief. Then it just cascaded from there, so much goodness. I'm glad it's a good fit for my needs.

@ideafella One of the things that hooked me on Godot is how lightweight it is. Unlike Unity, it doesn’t take an eternity to open or make build hahaha

@SkarredGhost I hear you. The same story here, even when I implementing time management practices. Hopefully you can this year. I definitely would like to hear your feedback and how that went for you. I'm sure that would open your socials up to more users, viewers. #XR #VR #AR #Godot

I'm trying Visual Studio 2026 with #Unity... it works much better than 2022, it's faster and also integrates better with Copilot... I don't know why Unity keeps being bundled with 2022. Anyway, if you want a better integration with #AI and #Copilot, Visual Studio Code is much superior, IMHO. The only problem is that I find its debugging functionalities with Unity a bit limited... What is your experience?

@josethevrtech I used it last fall with my NAS. I forgot I had saved sessions in there from long ago access. #PuTTY

I seriously can’t wait for the Steam Frame. I haven’t wanted a piece of new hardware this bad since the first Android phone released in 2008. There’s so many projects and ideas that I already have in the works.

latest SteamOS beta dropped X11 and is now 100% on Wayland 🥳. That means desktop configuration is finally here, along with HDR and adaptive sync controls in Desktop Mode.

Hooks changed how i work with claude code completely. i had "CRITICAL" and "IMPORTANT" rules all over my "CLAUDE dot md" and claude still decided to skip them when it felt like it. it even apologized after the fact. cool, thanks. hooks don't negotiate. they fire every time. PreToolUse catches the command before it runs , if it matches a destructive pattern like rm -rf or git reset --hard , it gets blocked. no asking nicely, no hoping the LLM remembers your instructions after 40 minutes of context. for me the setup took maybe 10 minutes and i haven't had to babysit a single session since. if you haven't looked into this yet , ask claude to write a hook for you and tell it what you want the hook to do, i didn't write of these hooks myself

Today we’d like to present something almost unbelievable!!! These renders were NOT generated by AI 🤨. They were created using NI (Natural Intelligence) — also known as … a real human 😮😱 After only a few years of learning, practicing, tweaking, and probably a bit of suffering, Aaron Westwood @chromadojo managed to reach this level of perfection. Crazy what humans can do, right? Thanks for using software built by actual humans, empowering other humans to create cool things ❤️
