Have started watching a new web series where the episodes are released on a weekly basis. Find it to be much more relaxing & absorbing viewing experience than binge watching. Can also be due to the theme & nature of the series (not a cliffhanger).

Will a healthy & responsible critique of judiciary now be preferred in hushed tones, whispers & be shrouded in secrecy? Will a public expression invite a court sanctioned censorship of content, restriction on employment & a carte blanch direction to the Govt to take legal steps?

Constant tussle to make sure that my profession doesn’t become my personality, with all its good & bad. Know many a lawyer who are personally just that - lawyers. That training & environment has a tendency of taking over aspects of your life & approach. Avoid at all cost.

Why is it that those who indulge in hate speech seem to enjoy impunity while the whole burden of "reasonable restrictions" on free speech are borne by writers, filmmakers, cartoonists and stand-up comics? And... The First alphanumeric section makes its appearance in the Income-tax Act, 2025 even before it comes into force. Section 354A proposed to be introduced in the Income-tax Act, 2025!!!

The new Income Tax Act, 2025 which will come into force with effect from 1st April 2026 has already been proposed to be amended with around 80 amendments even before its first year of working!

Looks like the Govt has proposed to introduce 4 RETROSPECTIVE amendments pertaining to tax issues which are currently pending before the SC. The proposals amend the interpretation in favour of the tax department. How fair is it?

The ASG does it again for the tax department today! A huge win in a much awaited ruling for the Govt with wide ramification for tax structures, treaty interpretation, anti avoidance rules, foreign investments in India. Being closely watched globally as well.
