As a long-time fan of the Jews, the most surreal part of 2016 was getting smeared by dozens of high-profile journalists as antisemitic (back when that was still bad).
@doctorow, for example, claimed I ran a "Nazi propaganda machine", publishing multiple stories accusing me of funding hateful pro-Nazi imagery stereotyping Jews in offensive ways. @arstechnica did the same, claiming I was "powering a tsunami of white supremacist and other racist image macros". The non-tech press (Bloomberg, CNN, Variety, WIRED, The Atlantic, CNBC, etc) all regurgitated the supposed industry experts.
