@TedHope Also the moment you go a bit higher (to "micro plus a little bit" budget) each film has its own arrangements re who gets a little, who a lot. I've known of films where the soundie, the gaffer + three leads were paid industry award, the rest get the award part or fully deferred.

@TedHope Hmm. In Australia micro-budget films tend to be made with legitimate contracts and deferred wages. No one expects payment, but as long as safety reports are adhered to, everything is legal. And on the off chance of a break-out success, folks get paid then.
