@LahavHarkov Do you think about how this absolutely insane nonsense sounds to even people who should be sympathetic to you?

The U.K., France and Canada threatened Israel last week with “concrete actions” if it does not work with United Nations agencies to distribute humanitarian aid. Meanwhile, they’re giving money to a UN agency that lets Hamas decide who received the funds.

@Towler France has an independent judiciary. "The French authorities" do not control the judiciary.

It really doesn’t seem that the French authorities have thought this one through. They will reap a political whirlwind. And they just won’t understand why.

@Birdyword It's really good at some things and not great at others; the problem is there isn't really any way of knowing which is which without trial and error

Say I want to find out which companies make robotic arms - asking Claude will probably give me a great list of 10 that cuts out calling an analyst or digging through some reports. But including a company that doesn't exist is much worse than spending that time!

I can't remember who said that the AI tools most people have available to them are the opposite of what would have been expected from science fiction. Portrayals of the future showed us extremely precise but sterile AI. What we actually got is creative but often unreliable AI.
Joe Weisenthal@TheStalwart

From the DMs. I suspect a lot of people who have played around with using ChatGPT for certain types of routine communication-automation would find that this rings true.

@thomasforth Unfortunately the 210 drops me about 20 mins walk from where I want to go on both ends, meaning the total journey is near enough an hour. For less of a walk I have to change bus which also takes about an hour.

@idvck And this is not excellent? Is the problem that the bus is slow?

@thomasforth Don't know how you can claim with a straight face that a system which requires me to take two buses to go a few miles – both of which might take up to 15 minutes to arrive – is "excellent".

@idvck There is variability in every system. But generally public transport in London is excellent, especially by the standards of the UK, and even in outer London.

@thomasforth Tom. You say the experience is very good. But I regularly have to spend an hour on two buses to go about 3 miles orbitally between different bits of north London. That's not a successful transport system.

I do a lot of moaning on here about transport. Because mostly the transport I choose to use is awful. But now and again I come to London. And the experience is very good. And you can see that negatively, part of me does of course, but also what an opportunity for other cities.

Memecoins literally ruined my life. I had just quit fortnite and was moving into college and was looking for a way to make some extra cash and some of my friends started memecoins. I took a band or so and figured id give it a try. I promptly lost it all. I then went and deposited more and tried again and lost that all too. And this was the theme of the next 6 months of my life. Getting a paycheck and losing it on solana. I even had other people helping me and giving my sol to work with but no matter what I did i just couldnt become profitable. Eventually I decided id probably have better luck just straight out gombling. I had some big wins but it was far outweighed by my losses. And now we are here by now I've basically quit gomblin but still to this day I've spent almost every paycheck on memecoins. To date I estimate I'm down a little over 20k. I keep thinking it might just be time to hang it up but I just keep seeing people with almost 0 experience hitting these crazy wins and shit and its like why cant I aswell? But idk I had to quit my job because of my school schedule so now I just have dead 0 dollars to my name and about to start taking on debt to pay for school. I genuinely don't know what to do. I was trying to find a job on campus but they wont let me apply because I don't receive any financial aide because my parents make too much money ( my parents aren't paying for my school). And even if I did get a job on campus it pays minimum wage (12 dollars in Nevada) and that isnt gunna pay my tuition. So its looking like I'm gunna graduate school with upwards of 40k in student debt. Sorry for the rant i just need to talk about this shit.

@idvck I like how you specifically came back to Twitter for this, presumably reasoning correctly that there would be a hell of a lot more cryptobros on here.

>Islamist rebels, long kept at bay by the superior firepower of the regime’s industrialised backer, immediately overrun the country as soon as foreign support is withdrawn If only there was another example from the Middle East in recent years that could’ve warned us
