Don’t take this advice lightly. When @royalairmaroc lost my luggage for two months on a flight from Nigeria to JFK Airport, it left me stranded. Na God make I no put important documents for the bag 🙂

I’m not a prophet of doom, but anytime any of my mentee is leaving Nigeria for the first time overseas, I always advise that they do not keep all their eggs in one basket- No such thing as 23kg- Food, other 23kg- Clothes. It’ll be depressing if any of the bags got missing & you can’t retrieve it for weeks, what’ll you be eating/wearing?. I always prefer it’s split, food & clothes in both. One day, I was proved right, one of the bags got missing, never retrieved till date, only compensation given, however, the other bag contain a mixture of clothes/foods. Sad situation but it’s what it’s. How on earth is a JJC expected to navigate the first few weeks in a new country with no clothes. NB- Till date, I adopt same method too.
