There were 4395 acute mental health beds in Australian public hospitals in 2007-08, rising to 5493 in 2016-17. Number available per 1000 people also rose over this period. More beds NOT the answer. More, effective community care now. @ian_hickie @CMHR_ANU @ozprodcom
