The Charleston Regional Aviation Authority (CRAA) joins the State of South Carolina and the nation in mourning the untimely passing of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, a steadfast advocate for South Carolina whose unwavering support of aviation and transportation infrastructure helped shape the future of Charleston International Airport. Throughout his distinguished career in public service, Senator Graham championed critical federal investments that fueled the continued growth and modernization of Charleston International Airport. His leadership in Washington helped secure funding for transformational infrastructure projects, advanced airport technology, strengthened aviation security, and supported initiatives that enhanced passenger experience while positioning Charleston as one of the nation's fastest-growing aviation markets. Senator Graham was also a strong partner to the Charleston Regional Aviation Authority, working alongside airport leadership to advance long-term capital improvements, promote economic development, and expand commercial air service opportunities. His commitment to ensuring South Carolina remained competitive in the global economy played a significant role in helping Charleston International Airport become the state's busiest airport and a nationally recognized leader in aviation.
