On Thursday we received the sad news that Jon Davies (aka JD) had passed away. JD witnessed and achieved plenty in his time at Tewkesbury Cricket Club. Top order batsman, slow left arm bowler and even spells keeping wicket), along with captaining various sides over the years. 1/3

Really sad to read this. Many years ago (I think it was 1989) I went to watch Kent vs Glamorgan at Canterbury. I was only 17 but I remember watching Hugh Morris batting with Alan Butcher and he got 50s in both innings. 💔

Absolutely horrified by the vicious assault by a Mr Snape of Kirkham CC. In football it may be a shoulder charge but in cricket it’s a Level 3 son. Interesting to see how Mr Snape only goes for the young batsman AFTER the wk holds him back.

Congratulations #India. Fantastic drama at the end of a brilliant series. Can’t help but feel England missed a golden opportunity but a great advert for Test cricket. #ENGvIND

Few thoughts after watching #EngvsInd. 1. There’s Test cricket - & everything else is a poor imitation 2. @root66 is England’s greatest ever batsman 3. Eng can beat Austrailia if @benstokes38 is fit 4. Test cricket has to be played over 5 days 5. @RickyPonting is class pundit

RIP Wayne Larkins. My life was made richer from knowing him and batting with him. A true and immensely loveable character.

I hope today’s drama between #ENGvIND puts an end to the nonsense around four-day Tests. Cricket needs this 5th day drama.
