Black culture could and should have been Jack and Jill, black frats and sororities, and deb balls. It still exists in some places, but rap and degeneracy overshadow it.

Yea, it’s likely the Lagos effect. Most of my friends here are from different tribes. In fact, I’ve learned more about other cultures from my friends Igbo, Edo, etc. I think being deeply tribal largely depends on the environ you grew up in.
200 people murdered in Benue, 50 killed in Plateau@AScully789

@DualOctane Most of the sheltered people i've come across (eg. Shocked by RONU or growing tribalism on social media) have been lagos born and bred. A TON of lagos upper and middle class, i'd even say most, are actually sheltered and oblivious to tribalism

One of those in the right would go hard for an armband tattoo. Also more people aren’t talking about how Benin people were using the Maltese cross despite not being a Christian kingdom , and the use of crosses pre dates Portuguese arrival

Designs and patterns used by Benin artisans in ancient and modern edo art guilds. These designs and patterns are categorized into royal, cosmological, and aristocratic motifs.

@igboPappist Reason why I reject blind loyalty: the concept of defending and even lying about the deficiencies, flaws, faults, and failures of my culture, history, and people just because of loyalty. Stating bitter truths is meant for reflection and correction, not mocking, nor flattery.

This happens when one applies presentism & misinformation to the ancient world. Being “illiterate” means that one cannot read & write. I don’t know of any Igbo person who read & wrote in precolonial Igboland. Oral history is the most editable form of storing information. …
Ogidi Ndị Mmụọ@Chukwubuez99577

We were never an "illiterate" people. We just didn't trust the paper. Paper rots. Paper can be forged. Instead, our ancestors built a physical Blockchain using the Ofo, a biological storage device that held the "un-editable" history of a whole lineage.
