A person who needs to be happy will never be happy. A person who needs to be at peace will never be at peace.

A look back at the timeless No. 14 Chair, created by German cabinetmaker Michael Thonet in 1859 🪑 Crafted from six pieces of wood, ten screws and two nuts, this was the first piece of furniture designed to be shipped in parts to save space during transportation and come with simple instructions on how to put it together. To give the chair its elegant curves, Thonet decided to use Beechwood as it’s easy to bend and doesn’t crack like other kinds of hard wood. Thonet was inspired to design a chair that could be mass-produced and sold at an affordable price. By 1930, fifty million had sold. Did you know that artist Pablo Picasso had one in his studio and physicist Albert Einstein also owned one? #ThrowbackThursday
