@ajt Alternative parent tip. 6 year old kids don’t need to build an app. They have their whole life to use and build technology….maybe wait a few years. They won’t fall behind.

PSA for people with kids here. I highly recommend having each of your kids make an app or product with Claude. I have both my 10 year old and 6 year old using Claude (with my support) to build an idea they each had. My 10 year old is building a mobile app game that lets you design custom outfits and compete with friends on who made the best oens and my 6 year old is making a competitive hula hoop game that is inspired by the structure of mortal kombat. We work on them during the weekend and we plan to publish both to the app store when they are ready. Highly recommend doing this.

@JonHaidt The problem isn’t that parents don’t know the screens are bad. They know. The ‘but my kid will feel left out without it’ excuse is a rationalization from lazy/selfish parents that don’t want to be bothered, and it’s compounded by the modern taboo about letting kids roam.

Peter Thiel confirms that tech execs generally place severe restrictions on tech use by their own children. His limit for his kids: 1.5 hours per week. (kids were 3.5 and 5 at the time) As we say in The Amazing Generation, the "tech wizards" want YOUR kids to spend all day.

@JonHaidt @Buccigross Nuance is important. There’s a massive difference between watching blippi on an iPad and playing game/social themed products with exposure to ads and ML driven models. Peter more than likely has the luxury to rely on others to engage his children the other 98% of their day.

Panthers just so obviously don’t have enough. They’re getting beat late in all these games because all of their top players are overworked and they have nothing left in the tank by the end of the game. They’ve generated nothing this period. It’s unwatchable.

I feel like putting AJ Greer on L2 with Bennett and Tkachuk over someone like mackie samoskevich is getting a bit too cute Greer shouldn’t be playing in the top 6.
