Mais il a clairement manqué de respect à la fonction présidentielle, car il n’y a pas de bicéphalisme à la tête du Sénégal d’un point de vue institutionnel : c’est un régime présidentiel. SONKO est un Premier ministre particulier, mais le premier à comprendre cela, c’est Bassirou Diomaye Faye lui-même. D’ailleurs, son tout premier décret après son arrivée au pouvoir a été de renforcer les pouvoirs du Premier ministre. C’est le seul président qui permet à son Premier ministre de nommer des ministres régaliens. Il a accordé à SONKO tout ce qu’il demandait, mais cela ne fait pas de lui moins le président de la République. Qu’il y ait des divergences entre un président et un Premier ministre, c’est normal. Je ne pense pas non plus que Robert Beugré Mambé et Alassane Ouattara soient d’accord sur tout. Mais même dans ses plus beaux rêves, MAMBÉ ne peut pas venir à la télévision répéter tous les jours : “Je ne suis pas d’accord avec Alassane Ouattara.” Aller jusqu’à dire que le président doit se ressaisir, c’est excessif. C’est SONKO qui a commencé depuis le mois de juillet, parce qu’il n’a jamais réellement accepté d’être Premier ministre. Et s’il y en a un qui a été patient et qui a mis du temps à réagir, c’est bien DIOMAYE FAYE. D’ailleurs, DIOMAYE FAYE est l’un des principaux artisans du projet du PASTEF. C’est avec lui que SONKO a construit ce mouvement. Il a participé à la rédaction du manifeste, à l’élaboration de la stratégie. Ce n’était pas quelqu’un qui “dormait” au PASTEF : il en était le secrétaire général, celui qui connaissait tous les délégués, alors que SONKO ne les connaissait pas forcément tous. Ils ont ensuite mis en avant SONKO, qui est devenu celui qui incarnait le projet. Aucun président au monde n’accepterait qu’un Premier ministre agisse de cette manière. À un moment donné, SONKO a poussé le bouchon trop loin, et le président de la République a fini par réagir. »

Happy birthday to my three handsome triplets Ragnar, Aiden and Liam and to their beautiful mother, my ex-wife, Precious all of whom are celebrating their new age today! To the triplets I say, on behalf of your older brother Aragorn and the entire family and household, that you have brought us so much joy and we are very proud of you. Our love for you is endless and our faith in you is total and complete. The three of you make life worth living and your courage and strength is utterly inspiring. Always filled with joy and always putting smiles on the faces of all those around you: you are indeed, together with your siblings, my strength and the joy of my life. May God bless you today and always and may He grant you many more beautiful years of good health, peace, joy, prosperity and blessings. He has guided you, provided for you, protected you and caused you to prosper and excel despite so many challenges and against all odds. That in itself is a miracle and as I see you go from strength to strength, each with his own unique and distinct gifts and qualities, it simply affirms my faith in God and confirms the fact that He can do ANYTHING and cannot be limited in His power, splendour and manifold blessings. In the three of you I see the love and faithfulness of God and I witness His goodness, mercy and splendour in open display. I thank Him for your respective lives and I thank the three of you for being my strength and my anchor and for giving me a purpose to fight on, to live and to excel. In all three of you, together with your older brother Aragorn, by the grace and mercy of God, I have four sons in whom I am well pleased and who will keep the flag flying long after I am gone. For this I thank the Lord and I say glory and honor be unto His holy name forever. To Precious, the mother of my children, I say thank you for being such a pillar of strength and a source of inspiration for our four handsome sons. I still remember watching you and holding your hand as you brought each of them into the world. Those were beautiful moments that no-one can take from either of us. We went through so much and had our differences over the years but isn't it wonderful how the Lord has established the peace between us for the sake and love of our children even as we walk our separate paths. That is the greatest testimony of all and has confirmed the fact that, with God, all things are possible. You have proved yourself to be such a wonderful mother and I am so proud of the fact that though we have gone our separate ways and have both found peace and happiness in our respective lives you are not only the mother of four of my children and ex-wife but you are also one of my dearest friends and closest confidantes. May your days be long Mama Aragorn, may you excel and prosper and may life be kind to you. Even as I pray for our sons every day I pray for you too and I marvel at your strength, resilience and commitment to these four young men. It serves as a lesson to us all. I lost my spark, and my wife suffered for it. I took all my love and attention and poured it into my son, leaving my wife behind. I became an excellent father but a woeful husband.
