Duane Allman died 50 years ago today, at 24. He worked as a Muscle Shoals session player, recording with Aretha, Wilson Pickett, Boz Scaggs, Derek and the Dominos; started and led the Allman Brothers Band, culminating in their classic July 1971 double live album At Fillmore East.

@thedavidcrosby Absolutely love this album. One of your best in years. However there is a pressing problem with the vinyl. Side 2 is full of noise (crackles/pops) and unlistenable. I had to return it twice and the third one at the record store was just as bad.
