If I were Apple I would try my best to design a mac mini / studio that can host 20-50B parameter models locally then just sell them as add-ons embedded inside the mac. I would prefer a mac mini that can run a model capable of basic coding and agentic tasks at 0 token cost and no setup work to host and serve it. Makes more sense instead of mostly useless stuff like Final Cut Pro or Garage band .

Just as computers evolved from being the size of a conference room to sitting on our wrists while having thousands of times the processing power eventually AI will be the same where in a few years we will be able to fit huge LLMs inside of basically apple watches

We must NOT let our companies use these Chinese models to save a few bucks. OpenAI and Anthropic are correct. This is vital national security. Please read Bing West's just released Cat 5. I respect the Chinese people greatly but these companies are run by the PLA for heaven's sakes.

Free market logic has never reigned over strategic industries. Why not open source our stealth bombers?

The founders of Fireflies AI (now worth $1B+) pretended to be an AI notetaker before the tech existed.
The founders would:
> Join meetings on mute as "Fred from Fireflies"
> Take notes by hand while sitting silently
> Send the "AI-generated" notes 10 minutes later
They did this for 100+ meetings to pay rent, before actually building the product that went on to become a unicorn.

Came across this post on LinkedIn... Turns out the first version of @firefliesai – AI meeting assistant – doesn't even have AI. It's just founder joining the calls, taking notes manually, and sending the summary back.
