@trager_bombs I think there is some confusion wrt to that argument. No one is suggesting people should stop learning, but rather that there is a tendency for academics to become petty-bourgeoisified in consciousness and subsequently more and more divorced from the daily struggles of the masses

@ilektramerc It's infinitely frustrating to see this parroted amid conversations about how academics are a parasitic class all week. Not in a 'fuck y'all, I ain't reading that' way but in a... "Who the fuck would we be reading if we actually bought that shit and stopped learning"

@AmPamphlet I don’t necessarily disagree that it is important to read theory from a variety of tendencies even if one disagrees with them. Though as an ML I would of course have to recommend Stalin above all of those.

@ilektramerc Tbh after Lenin instead of reading Stalin you should explore different ideas and choose who you agree with the most. You should explore Trotsky, Luxemburg, Pannekoek, Bordiga maybe check out ideas of anarchists and don't forget bolsheviks like Bukharin and ofcStalin like you said

@AprilsBooks @sumaecksdee Likewise! Any genuine communist appreciates good faith critique, it’s how we learn and become better communists. I’m pretty set in my positions, but it is always interesting to hear healthy critiques of them.
