@FearStairLmk That is a strange news piece - alas written by one who had little naval knowledge. Nonetheless, the author was moved to record the event - which if only portion is true, makes that small vessels young master a most capable and venturesome boy - not withstanding his infirmity.

Yesterday Ilen gently relinquished the tidal shelter of Limerick’s Floating Dock to once again answered willingly the call of the sea.

Ilen took the west going tide to pass Barrington’s Pier, Limerick City this morning.

Ilen anchored off Mac Mahon castle, Collage Bay, Carrigaholt. The bay is named after O’ Curry College, established 1912 & named in honour of local man - renowned Irish scholar, Eugene O’ Curry. The college was founded by Limerick’s Neilí O’ Brian sister of Conor - Ilen’s designer
