Paul Thomas Anderson used his Best Picture Oscar speech to shout out a bunch of incredible movies that DIDN'T win, reminding the "losers" tonight that their films will still go down in history: "In 1975, the Oscar nominees for Best Picture were Dog Day Afternoon, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Jaws, Nashville, and Barry Lyndon. There is no 'best' among them. There is just what that mood might be that day. But we're happy to be part of this: a wonderful, wonderful journey with our fellow nominees, our fellow filmmakers, and our fellow filmmakers that even weren't recognized by the Academy. There's so many great films this year."

The discourse around this Timothée Chalamet controversy makes one thing clear: he’s one of the most protected and privileged white actors in the industry. The way people brushed off his comments says everything. If another actor said the same thing, the backlash would be relentless.

😬 Timothée Chalamet dissed Opera & Ballet in a resurfaced video from 2019. Watch: tmz.me/2jzKVkJ

Misty Copeland, who helped Timothée Chalamet promote #MartySupreme, has weighed in on his comments about ballet and opera: “First I have to say that it’s very interesting that he invited me to be a part of promoting ‘Marty Supreme’ with respect to my art form ... He wouldn’t be an actor and have the opportunities he has as a movie star if it weren’t for opera and ballet and their relevance in that medium. So all of these mediums have a space and we shouldn’t be comparing them.” variety.com/2026/film/glob…
