a very interesting footnote from a Workshop where Tencent invited tons of Overseas to KPL FInals
If you see many of my KPL Clips you'll see one common thing "There's an insane amount of Female fans at LAN Finals"
This stat confirms it, Offline Audience for KPL is "70% Female"
Artyom Odintsov 🇺🇦🇰🇿@KzTeMa
Из интересного с HoK Workshop'a про китайскую аудиторию: 70% посетителей ивентов - девушки. И на видосих рили, выглядит это достаточно заметно, фанбаза команд прям сильно отличается от привычного киберспорта

@lethimcook2m @EsportsCharts Yeah this likely could be the outcome but imagine T1 down 0-2( ofc I don't want that) Iam sure viewership will skyrocket .
English

@illdu_ @EsportsCharts I think if Finals go to game 5 it will surpass the last years viewership but if 3-0 or 3-1 I think it will be 5M or so.

@EsportsCharts @T1LoL Kinda understandable since it didn't went to Game 5. Bro I can't even imagine worlds without T1. Riot has to be prepared for the worse.
English

@T1LoL sweep Top Esports. Faker grabs MVP.
Yet… overall viewership is down compared to 2024’s data. 📉
Numbers don’t lie, but legends never die.

Dear Wild Rift Players,
Five years of @wildrift . Wow. Feels like both a lifetime and like we’re just getting started.
It’s wild to think how far we’ve come. Wild Rift was born in the chaos of 2020… a year that forced the world to change quickly, and Riot with it. We rethought how we work, how we collaborate, and some of the details of how we deliver for players. Through all of it, one belief anchored us: that there was a path to bringing an authentic League of Legends experience to mobile in a way that would delight players.
You’ve probably heard the story of the origins of “a mobile League of Legends” before. There are lots of mistellings about it; some folks talk about other mobile MOBAs racing ahead of us to market. Or that we thought it was a bad idea or wouldn’t have an audience. The truth is this: for a long, long time, we believed there was potential for a great MOBA experience on mobile, but at the time (~2013ish?), we didn’t have the right people for it. At Riot we ALWAYS start with a team with extreme passion for the genre and the space. Back then, we didn’t yet have those people. A few years later we began assembling a team, led by Michael Chow, that truly understood mobile… and understood MOBA… and understood what underserved players in that genre really needed.
We asked: “Can we bring the strategic depth, the incredible champions and gameplay of Leagueto mobile in a way that resonates?” Short game sessions, an entirely different input scheme, pacing and layout adjustments, item changes, targeting, mobile networking - so many questions and so many challenges for the team to overcome.
Since then, we’ve watched Wild Rift evolve. We adjusted our expectations of what we’re making and for whom we’re making it. Alan Moore led the team for an important stretch, setting the game up for its current state as a great collaboration between our Los Angeles team and our Shanghai studio. Under the leadership of @PapaSmoothie the team continues to demonstrate the qualities that a great team needs: deep passion for the genre, an innovative spirit and willingness to take risks and a deep ability to relate to the needs of players.
To the community: thank you. Your feedback, your passion, your voice … you’ve shaped Wild Rift far more than any internal roadmap. To the team: thank you for believing, for iterating, for learning, growing and delivering.
Here’s to five years of Wild Rift and many more ahead. Let’s keep evolving together, pushing the boundaries of what mobile MOBAs can be, and always keeping the player at the center.
