You cannot colonize a place you are from. There is no other land to which Jews as a collective are connected. Every Muslim site in the land is literally built on top of a Jewish one. A state founded by an indigenous people, who either already lived there or were returning from exile, without a mother empire, mostly fleeing as refugees for survival, does not meet the definition of settler colonialism by any stretch of the imagination.

You know who’s a perfect metaphor for the GOP? Scott Jennings. A pundit who mocks Trump with us during commercial breaks — but fawns over Trump when the camera is rolling. Brave enough to speak out… in the green room.

Contrarian, I appreciate the deflection. Local journalists are an incredible asset to the City of Chicago. You might not like everything they report. You might question their ideological leanings, especially if yours are very strong in one direction. I always defend local journalists. My point to the Fox Reporter is that it was cheap to insinuate the Trib had nefarious purposes for not mentioning the immigration status of the Loyola suspect in an article earlier this weekend. It fits in with a tired, false narrative that local media purposely leave that information out because they want to protect undocumented immigrants. It's not true. The paper hadn't mentioned it because they were basing their story on an arrest report that did not say anything about the immigration status of the suspect. A fact like that better be checked, corroborated and re-checked. We know DHS has, shall we say, been less than truthful in the past. It makes sense that DHS "sources" would not be enough to go on. Some of those former sources are now gone, and potentially facing corruption investigations. But short answer, no, i will not throw hard-working, underpaid local journalists under the bus.
