@JasperSiepkes Packages now available in trunk! We also now have github.com/illumos/jdk which will hopefully consolidate efforts to support OpenJDK on illumos going forwards. Thanks to @jmclulow for setting that up, and @ptribble for maintaining the patchset in newer releases.

Currently importing 13k photos/videos into @photoprism_app which lives in a docker container, in a bhyve VM, in a zone. Storage is a zfs fs mounted into the zone via lofs, exposed in the VM as 9pfs. It's turtles all the way down! Fingers crossed!! 🐢 #illumos #bhyve

#illumos #arm Tomorrow our maintainer Toaster twitch.tv/toasterson will stream the 2nd part on how to prepare the devenv for those wanting to join this project. The sd card images will also be made available so that you can start playing with it on your Pi4 hardware.

Wonderful. #illumos on the RPi400, Hayashi has done a tremendous work! Now a console framebuffer for this thing and let‘s rock and roll 😅👌🏻 Folks try it! It is real fun.

A little DTrace, a little kmdb, a little assembly. Nothing like a little late night debug action to fix a bhyve issue. Might be interesting to others to see the raw debug brain dump in gist format vs the linked issue #illumos gist.github.com/papertigers/97…

in case you were wondering, the borg backup tool appears to work on illumos just fine. im using the pkgsrc version

A small step for gurus, a huge sacrifice for me 😅😂 Should be the first time that #illumos arm64 runs in qemu natively on #debian arm64 on an M2 MBP 😅 Now the fun starts😅 Thx to @astr0baby for the disk image and his support 🙏🏻

Need some help 🙏🏻 So if I want to cross compile illumos-gate for aarch64 I have to do it on #illumos based Oses? AFAIK there are no arm cross compilers on #openindiana or #tribblix, right? Or do I use an arm64 Linux build system to compile it? github.com/n-hys/illumos-…
