Before the Bundesliga opener against RB Leipzig, Coach Vincent Kompany personally went to Uli Hoeneß' home at Tegernsee to talk to him about the thin squad. Kompany advocated for Xavi Simons and tried to convince Hoeneß of making a move. Max Eberl and Christoph Freund had already prepared the transfer in the background. The coach's argument was that a player like Simons would fit in perfectly in Bayern's squad plans. The problem, however, is that Hoeneß and the supervisory board are sticking to their loan only policy - and RB Leipzig would not let Xavi leave on loan. The Dutchman is a priority target for Eberl. Kompany also explained to Hoeneß his ideas and how he's planning with Simons Asked by @SPORTBILD, Uli Hoeneß did not want to comment on Vincent Kompany's visit. @Complaxes No. The boars know that the management isn't there for the long term. Kompany is just here till City position opens up. Freund is not doing anything and Eberl's outcomes aren't working. The board knows it needs a new coach for a long term project and not just a mercenary coach.

They say Kalle and Uli are disappointed with Eberl’s summer plans. But let’s not ignore the fact that it was Hoeneß himself who took control of the Wirtz file and failed. After that failure, the media was conveniently briefed that “no one is at fault”. So which one is it? When Hoeness takes over and things collapse, we hear silence. When Eberl struggles, suddenly the old guard steps in to “fix” the situation. How can any sporting director succeed if he is constantly overruled, undermined, and blamed for decisions that weren’t even his? This cycle is exactly why Bayern is stuck. The board is a virus.
