Public administration + genetics + AI—Prof Wen Bo’s interdisciplinary pursuits🌟
Wen Bo, assistant dean of the UM Faculty of Social Sciences, shifted his focus to public administration after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. By incorporating genetics into the study of public administration, he unlocked an innovative research direction, earning him the William E. Mosher and Frederick C. Mosher Award in 2023. He is also the first Chinese scholar to receive this prestigious award!
After joining UM, Prof Wen has continued his interdisciplinary research. He not only explores the impact of AI on public service, but also examines specific policies supporting youth entrepreneurship in the Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. His research has been published in renowned journals such as Public Management Review. He was recently awarded the FSS Distinguished Scholar Award for the 2024/2025 academic year, marking another milestone in his academic career.
‘In life, love and trust are the two things you can never afford to betray,’ Prof Wen remarks. With the guidance and support of his teachers, colleagues, students, and even anonymous journal reviewers he has never met, Prof Wen will step by step realise his vision of institutional reform. ✨
