On This Day — July 17, 1936 The Arab Revolt against the Jews was in its third brutal month, and much of the world barely noticed. Between June 16-July 17, 1936, Arab terrorists murdered nine Jewish civilians, most in cold-blooded ambushes on city buses. They also deliberately destroyed 75,000 trees planted by Jewish pioneers in an attempt to erase the results of Jewish labor. The Arab Revolt was a coordinated campaign of murder, intimidation, and sabotage designed to stop Jewish immigration and development in their ancestral homeland. Arab gangs attacked Jewish villages, sniped at civilians on the roads, and burned fields and orchards. The British government’s own 1937 report to the League of Nations described the reality plainly: “The terrorist campaign took the form of isolated murder and attempted murder; of sporadic cases of armed attacks on military, police and civilian road transport; on Jewish settlements and on both Arab and Jewish private property.” The violence would continue through 1939, with thousands of attacks. Jews were targeted simply for existing and trying to rebuild their homeland. The revolt was heavily organized and incited by Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem. Yes, the same man who would later become a close Nazi collaborator, meet with Hitler, and actively work to prevent Jews from escaping to British Mandate Palestine during the Holocaust. He didn’t just target Jews: he also murdered fellow Arabs and opposed the British when they were seen as too soft on Jewish immigration. This 1936–1939 Arab Revolt was the first major modern attempt to prevent a Jewish state through violence. It failed militarily, but it succeeded in pressuring Britain into appeasement with the catastrophic 1939 White Paper, which drastically restricted Jewish immigration to the Land of Israel at the exact moment millions were desperate to escape Nazi Europe. The result? Countless Jews who might have been saved were trapped and murdered in the Holocaust. The war to prevent Jewish life in the Land of Israel began long before 1948.

From 5000 Nukba participants recognised by facial recognition 2700 eliminated todate Israel is intensifying its campaign to hunt down and eliminate every terrorist involved in the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led massacre, despite the ongoing US-brokered ceasefire in Gaza. A Times of Israel analysis reveals a sharp rise in IDF strikes targeting October 7 perpetrators and hostage-holders, framed officially as responses to immediate threats to comply with truce terms. Israel maintains a detailed list of roughly 5,000 participants identified via facial recognition from attack footage, over 2,700 have been killed so far (including during the initial assault), with another 300 captured. A dedicated Shin Bet unit leads intelligence efforts to locate and strike remaining perpetrators in Gaza. Strikes on such targets, hostage-takers, and terror commanders increased notably in recent months, with a spike in June 2026, even as general operations slowed; Defense Minister Israel Katz has vowed that all involved “are marked for death wherever they are.” Israel Breaking News

#Israel is not a colonialist project. Let’s debunk one of the biggest lies about Israel, the claim that it is a colonial enterprise. When you examine the facts, the accusation collapses immediately. Here is the truth. 👉 There is no “big Israel” sending settlers to a “small Israel” Every colonial project in history involved a powerful mother country sending its own citizens overseas to create a new outpost. Spain sent Spaniards to the New World. Britain sent Brits to America and Australia. France sent French citizens to North Africa. Israel has no “mother country”. 👉There is no older, larger Israel somewhere else sending its people to create a “New Israel”. This land has had Jews continuously living in it from the days of Abraham until today. There was never a time of complete Jewish absence from the land. 👉 There were no resources to extract Colonialism has always been driven by the search for wealth. Gold, sugar, cotton, oil, spices, minerals. The Land of Israel had none of these. It was not rich, not profitable, not filled with treasure. The Zionist movement was not built on economic exploitation. It was built on a historic connection to the land. 👉 There was no military or economic empire supporting the Jews Colonialism requires an empire. The Zionist movement had no empire behind it. In 1948, during the most critical moment, the United States placed an arms embargo on the entire region. This decision restricted the Jews and placed them in severe danger while five armies prepared to invade. Israel survived on courage and desperation, not imperial support. 👉 There was no hostile takeover, native land that Colonial powers seized by force. The Zionists did not. They bought land from absentee Ottoman landlords, often paying in gold and often paying double the price. Arab families of the time widely documented that there was more land available for sale than the Jews had money to purchase. The remaining territory changed hands only after Arab militias and armies launched a war against the Jewish community. The Jews did not want that war, but they won it. Calling that “colonialism” is misleading. It is the normal outcome of a war started by the other side. 👉 Israel became independent by fighting the empire, not serving it Colonizers act on behalf of an empire. Israel fought the British Empire directly. The British arrested Jewish fighters, executed them, and tried to crush Zionist resistance. Underground movements rebelled, sabotaged, and resisted British rule until independence was achieved. 👉 Jews are indigenous to the Land of Israel Israel is the only modern nation whose majority population speaks its ancient native language in the exact place where that language was born. Hebrew was revived by Jews returning home. Jewish holidays follow the agriculture and seasons of this land. 👉Jewish law is built around Jerusalem, Hebron, Shechem, and the Temple. Indigenous people returning to their homeland are not colonizers. They are the opposite of colonizers. Colonial projects are created with the support of empires. Israel was created in defiance of one. On This Day — July 16, 1919 Ukrainian neighbors turned on the Jews with axes and swords. In the small town of Slovechna, Jews and Christians had lived side by side for generations sharing courtyards and gardens. Their children played together. Marko Lukhtans, a local who had fought the Germans in the Great War, would laugh when “Jewish geese” wandered into his yard or when the kids picked cherries from his trees. “So what do you care about the little Jews?” he’d say. But on July 16, 1919, Lukhtans picked up a revolver and a saber and began massacring his Jewish neighbors. Led by a 19-year-old local warlord named Kosenko, who spread rumors that the Jews were planning to close churches and execute priests, a mob descended on the town. They smashed windows, looted homes with wheelbarrows and sacks, and killed with intimate brutality, including the use of axes, pitchforks, and sabers. Entire families were cut down in their homes. The violence was personal. The killers were classmates, customers, childhood friends, and longtime neighbors. This was but one of thousands of violent pogroms against Jews in the Pale of Settlement in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The worst and most barbaric massacres took place during the Russian Civil War and the years surrounding it. Tens of thousands of Jews were murdered in the most horrific ways imaginable. Neighbors turned on neighbors. Entire communities that had coexisted for generations were slaughtered. The message was clear: Jews in Eastern Europe were scattered, defenseless sitting ducks at the mercy of whoever held power at any given moment. It was this wave of unimaginable violence that helped drive the urgent Zionist call for a Jewish homeland in the Land of Israel. A refuge and a place where Jews could finally defend themselves rather than wait for the next pogrom. The reestablishment of the State of Israel came too late for the Jews of Slovechna. But today, Israel is here and Israel is strong. Never again must Jews rely solely on the goodwill of their neighbors just to live.

IN HIS OWN WORDS: Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh, from the comfort of his home in Qatar: "We need the blood of women, children, and the elderly of #Gaza... so as to awaken our revolutionary spirit." Listen to this vile terrorist scum sacrifice his own people, while living in the lap of luxury. #freegazafromHamas #HamasisISIS @MEMRIReports

Most people think the Jews vanished from the Land of Israel for nearly 2,000 years until Theodor Herzl suddenly invented Zionism in the late 19th century. That’s a myth. Jews never fully left the Land. Ancient Jewish communities continued in Jerusalem, Safed, Hebron, and Tiberias for centuries. And in every generation, exiled Jews returned in waves whenever conditions allowed. Written calls for the restoration of the Jewish homeland go back hundreds of years before Herzl. In 1621, Sir Henry Finch, a senior legal advisor to King James I of England, published one of the earliest English calls for the return of the Jews. His book, The World’s Great Restoration or Calling of the Jews, argued for the restoration of Jewish national dominion in the Land of Israel. The reaction was swift and brutal. King James saw the work as a threat to royal authority. Finch and his publisher were arrested, the book was suppressed, and Finch lost everything. He died in prison a few years later. Finch was a Christian writing in a deeply Christian context, yet his call was rooted in the reality of Jewish suffering, dispersion, and the continuous Jewish presence in the Land. Ideas like his helped shift attitudes in England (from the 1290 expulsion of Jews from the country to Cromwell’s invitation for their return in 1655) and laid groundwork for later Christian support for Jewish restoration. Jewish longing for return had never disappeared. Zionism is baked into Judaism itself. Jews have prayed three times a day for centuries for the return to Jerusalem. And calls for reestablishing the Jewish homeland were being written about, even by non-Jews, hundreds of years before the popular narrative admits.

More than 180 Jews were killed, and 1,000 were injured, Looting of Jewish property took place and 900 Jewish homes were destroyed, in the Farhud pogrom in Baghdad in 1941. The hate against Jews has nothing to do with the state of Israel.

On This Day — July 15, 1942 The first deportation train left Westerbork transit camp in Holland carrying Dutch Jews to Auschwitz. (Video footage: Jews being loaded onto the trains — they had no idea they were heading to Auschwitz.) Over the next two years, more than 100 trains would depart from Westerbork alone, transporting 100,000+ Jewish men, women, and children to the killing centers and concentration camps of the Reich and the General Government. Many were told they were being sent to “work camps in the East.” Instead, most were gassed on arrival or worked to death under conditions designed to break body and soul. Entire Jewish families — babies, grandparents, teenagers with their whole lives ahead of them — were loaded onto cattle cars with no food, no water, and no mercy. The journey itself was a horror of thirst, suffocation, and despair. Holland had one of the highest Jewish death rates in Western Europe — roughly 75% of Dutch Jews were murdered. Efficient Dutch civil service registration, widespread collaboration by some non-Jewish citizens, and the country’s geography made escape nearly impossible. This day marks the start of a systematic machine of death that swallowed the vast majority of Dutch Jewry. We remember July 15, 1942 — the day the trains began rolling, carrying Jewish human beings to their doom. Some histories try to sanitize or forget the scale. The full record shows what industrialized evil looks like when a nation decides an entire people must be erased. Never again means never again.

Did you know: The Jewish history of Gaza spans millennia to 145 BCE when the Maccabees won the area in a military battle, and then the Hasmoneans secured it firmly for the Kingdom of Judah in 100 BCE, working with Queen Cleopatra III of Egypt, against her own son. Gaza was then again liberated by the Jews from the Romans during the revolt of 67AD. During the Byzantine era, Jews were living throughout Gaza for centuries and built was is considered the oldest synagogue in Gaza in 508AD, in the Rimal area of Gaza City. The site was excavated in 1965 during Egypt’s occupation of Gaza, and a mosaic of King David was found in the site with David written in Hebrew. The mosaic and other artefacts now rest in the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. All of this before Islam even existed, and before Arabs crawled out from under their rocks to invade and colonize the Middle East. During the period between 1000-1699 AD, Jews lived in Gaza, until a pogrom by Islamists against Jewish communities where hundreds of Jewish men, women and children were massacred, and hundreds fled. So you see, Jewish history in Gaza has spanned millennia. Arab history in Gaza has been on and off for 1300 years. And Palestinian history in Gaza has spanned a gargantuan 62 years since it was invented by the KGB and Yasser Arafat in the mid 1960’s.

On This Day — July 13, 1942 The Nazis were coming to finish what they started in Europe — and the Jews of the Middle East were next. On this day, in utmost secrecy, the Reich formed a special SS killing squad — the Walther Rauff Kommando — tasked with organizing the mass murder of Jewish communities in Libya, Egypt, and above all, Mandate Palestine. Twenty-four SS officers and NCOs, led by the inventor of the mobile gas van, were sent to Athens. They were waiting for Rommel’s signal to begin the slaughter. As Erwin Rommel’s Afrika Korps blazed across North Africa, terror gripped the Yishuv. The “Desert Fox” had captured Tobruk and was driving toward El Alamein, Alexandria, the Suez Canal, and then Mandatory Palestine. Half a million Jews in Eretz Yisrael and 75,000 in Egypt faced annihilation. Horrifying reports of Nazi atrocities had already reached them. Arabs marked Jewish homes with chalk, openly fighting over who would claim which property once Rommel arrived. The Mufti of Jerusalem had begged Hitler for an Arab legion to join the extermination. Berlin counted on local Arab support — and they were right. Families gathered in fear. One father told his young son the Germans were coming and Arabs were preparing knives as a “gift.” A woman recalled looking at the sky and thinking how bitter it would be to leave this world so young. But the slaughter never came. At El Alamein, British and Allied forces stopped Rommel cold in one of the most decisive turning points of the war. The planned Einsatzkommando deployment never happened. The Jews of the Yishuv were spared — by what many called a miracle. The Nazis had intended to bring the Holocaust to the Middle East. They were stopped at the desert’s edge. We remember July 13, 1942, as the day the countdown to another genocide began … and was miraculously interrupted. Some histories record only one side’s suffering. The full record shows how close the Jews of the Middle East came to sharing Europe’s fate.

Is there an explanation for this?

On This Day — July 12, 2006 Hezbollah started a war with a deliberate cross-border ambush — and the world still pretends Israel was the aggressor. On this day, Hezbollah terrorists crossed the internationally recognized Blue Line, killed 8 IDF soldiers, and abducted two more (Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser). This was no spur-of-the-moment attack. Hezbollah had spent years preparing — Iranian weapons, Syrian backing, fortified positions, and a cynical strategy of embedding among Lebanese civilians to maximize civilian casualties for propaganda. Watch the rare Hezbollah footage showing their meticulous preparations: Imad Mughniyah personally instructing the attack cell, commanders drilling the ambush on IDF vehicles, and measuring the border fence in broad daylight. In the weeks that followed, they fired thousands of rockets at Israeli towns. Israel responded against Hezbollah infrastructure — while Hezbollah used human shields and sophisticated media manipulation to play the victim. July 12, 2006 was the day a terror group with an Iranian-supplied arsenal chose war over peace — proving once again that their version of “resistance” meant deliberate attacks on Israeli civilians and the exploitation of their own population. Some wars begin with a lie. This one began with a massacre already in progress.
