What actually causes this Shadowban? 👥
Shadowban is when X limits or reduces ur accounts visibility without notifying you. Emphasis on without notifying you.
Results?
Your username will not popup or show in searches or hashtags
Your profile will be hidden from those not following you. (They can't see you 😹)
You start losing engagement drastically and suddenly
Your comments starts to identify as a Probable spam.
I've been seeing numerous cases of people and their X accs being shadowbanned lately and that's definitely not something I wish for anyone at all. It can be bad and trust me it can get worse than that. Now pay attention 👂
After taking closer looks and paying attention to couple of spaces, here's my take on some of the causes
🔂 When we spam too much, esp in cases of when smol accs tries to do this. Stuffs like trying to reply over 300 to 500 replies a day (usually low effort replies) all in the name of climbing a LB, posting over 10 times n above at a time (tweets with low quality, fair contents or low efforts), posting or repeating the same message or link over and over again, copy n pasting replies of any sort, even AI-copy pasta. Maybe there are more I didn't list but all this actions are considered spam by X algo and even the algo of those LBs you're trying to farm. Just like my boss @HumzyTrades would say "No LB or project is worth you losing ur acc" it took time to sink in and yes it did.
✍️ Trying to privately reply unknown people in their DMs. Making moves to text people who r not ur followers or ur following (at times) could as well get you on the blacklist. That's why at times when we try to do this, we immediately get logged out of our accs and asked to prove we r not bots before gaining back access to that acc. (I've been a victim so I could tell you this one for free) It's one of the reasons why you could get shadowbanned or even worse, suspended.
📌 Abnormal following of people under a short space of time can also spike a bot activity. Like if you follow like 300 - 500 followers in like 30 mins so you can gain attention. Omor wahala for you o. Avoid
❗️ Another one ppl don't talk about enough is When you try to engage with a probable spam comment in any of ur posts or tweets. Attempts to liking or replying their comment could also get you appearing like them. Yeah Thats one of the fastest ways to know if one is shadowbanned if their comments appears like that in people's tweet
⛔️ Even all this engagement farming can make you a scapegoat o. Stuffs like joining engagement groups of any sort (Whatsapp o, Telegram o, even in the X) to boost ur engagement. Why this one is bad is cos whether you're the leader of the group or just follower, you'll fall victim. Don't let anyone use you o. Or even buying replies, comments, or rts services That's the worst. Twitter has an algo that will always fish out bot activities like this.
#⃣ Even using overused tags in ur posts. Or tags that has been banned. Yeah. Some hashtags are actually spammed or banned. Using them can and will quietly reduce ur reach. Also over using of tags can also reduce ur reach.
