On May 2, 2023. A father of 2 Thierry Bastien was shopping at Walmart in Florida. He was with his partner, and their 4-month-old newborn child. A male Walmart employee was arguing with a female employee. The man demanded to see her phone, and she said no. He then started assaulting her. The woman screamed for help. WALMART did not alert security. Thierry then told his girlfriend, “I have to help”. When Thierry intervened, the assailant shot him. His girlfriend pleaded with him to spare his life while holding their infant child. The assailant emptied the clip on Thierry. He was dead when the police arrived. He was supposed to go to the Navy. He leaves behind a daughter and son. His GoFundMe barely raised $22,000 in 4 months. Where is his help? Where is the support? He died protecting a black woman. Facebook tried to take the post down.
